YOUR GUIDE TO WORKING THE GOLD CUP
Working at the Gold Cup can be a bit hectic. Employers often have over 100 staff to co-ordinate and very occasionally mistakes can be made. The JobShop wants to ensure that you are able to protect your interests and has put together this checklist to help you.
- Make sure you know who you are working for
- Make a note of the name and contact details of the person who hired you
- Ask who will be giving instructions on the day
- Keep a note of the hours you work and make sure your employer keeps a
record
- Make sure you know if you are being paid for time spent training and travelling
- If you are asked to turn up at 6.30am for a 7am start, check if you are paid from 6.30am –same applies for finishing times
- Make sure you know how and when you will be paid
In the unlikely event that you do experience any problems write to or email your employer in the first instance. Keep a copy of all correspondence and make a note of any phone calls made – how long they lasted, what was said and whom you spoke to.
If your query is not immediately dealt with/cleared up please email, phone or drop into the JobShop and we will always do our best to represent you.
